The PWS UPS (uninterruptible power source) Systems are the ultimate solutions designed for transportation and external traffic applications for example VMS signs, traffic lights and camera surveillance. Designed to provide a seamless uninterrupted secondary source of power with the addition of a battery or battery bank, the three main solution types available are Double Conversion, Line Interactive and Standby.
Double Conversion: True UPS as the Inverter operates at all times as Power is converted Twice as the power is converted into one common type, then regenerated and returned it to its original form but in a more usable clean, pure sine wave. This means that there is no switching of the battery circuit at any time. This means that the 'load' or the power to the traffic applications is protected at all times and all glitches, sags, and spikes that occur on the input are removed. Voltage regulation is therefore continuous.
Line Interactive (M-E Series): This system is the most common in the United States and is designed to interact with the utility and react to any sudden changes in the utility power. Sudden changes or instabilities in the power load are compensated by use of a tap-switching device which reacts in 4-6milliseconds approx.
Standby mode: As the name suggests reacts in the event of a complete power failure to maintain the equipment operation.
Customised systems can be designed to meet specific requests. External Power Conditioning Systems are also available. |
